THE BEST culinary and foodie tours in Salt Lake City (Updated September 2026)

Our guide was Ella who was also training Clair. Both ladies were lovely and very informative about the areas we visited. Ella from start to finish talked very passionately about things and we learnt a lot from her. The tour itself is definitely worth doing out to the flats as they are incredible. So pleased we did this tour and thank you Ella and Clair for all your advice.

I booked this tour with hopes of seeing the wildlife in Utah, as well as beautiful sights of its geography. I only heard of Antelope Island from books when I was a kid and hoped to see this place, along with the Great Salt Lake. I booked this tour, hoping I made the right choice……..and I was right.For the price of $113 you get a great experience from an excellent tour guide. That is, at least the tour guide I had was magnificent. I believe his name was Dima, and he demonstrated his expertise from the moment I got picked up by the van. First, he would contact via mobile if there are any sudden changes to the itinerary to give you a heads up. He also provides you with the address of a pick up spot if there are any inconveniences. The van, of which its description he provides in the pick up details, is clean, spacious, with snacks and bottled water provided for the trip.Once he picks up everyone, the tour begins—- not up arrivals, but with an impressive narration on the history of Utah en route to Antelope Island. In fact, upon arrival to Antelope Island he provides important tidbits about the place for safety measures, especially that of the wildlife. Throughout the drive he covers the history of Antelope Island, including geographic history. So many facts rang a bell of the books I read, and even more facts about the island that I didn’t know. He also played a few videos about the island that elaborated his narration. He also had a great sense of humor and he was very affable.The drive is smooth, covering significant areas of Antelope Island, including the farm, different rocky cliffs (each with impressive sights), and the Great Salt Lake coasts— all of which he stops by. These stops are not very brief; at hiking locations he made sure that we had enough time to walk around and up the rocky trails, or along the beaches. Moreover, he walked with the group, providing further explanation of the areas that we hiked, and of course, always offered to take pictures of families and couples in want of selfies. He was equally generous with time when we saw a herd of bison along the sides of the roads. Not only was he generous with the time, but he was also responsible and realistic with the time and the areas, reminding us of keeping a safe distance and of getting back in track.We saw bison, variety of birds and yes, antelope…and not even at a far distance. As he drove us to the next point of the island, he drove at a mild pace so that we could see the animals at a fair distance as they traveled parallel. The features of the island are simply gorgeous: the golden brown grassy landscapes, the towering hillsides resembling the highland, and the dry shoreline of the Great Salt Lake with clouds and precipitation mooring over the bluish gray waters of the lake, the chilled winds ranging from mild to strong, and the sound of their breezes as you observe the landscape in sweet silence. And then, our excellent tour guide takes us to one more rocky point of the island to experience the sunset. This is something you must witness: a breathtaking sunset expanding a panoramic blanket of orange, pink, purple, and blue over the Great Salt Lake, and there you are as its witness, whether you standing or sitting on the rocky cliff.By the end of the tour, it was already night, and our tour guide took the time to drop off every one of us to our hotels. He even went as far as Midvale, so that none of us had to take the train at night. We were fortunate to have a committed and professional tour guide, for he made sure that our experience was rich with education, beautiful sights, and plenty of laughs.

Tyler is the absolute BEST! We’re from NC so this is wayyy out of imagination. But Tyler was extremely knowledgeable, fun, clever and full of life. Great guy, amazing guide and a breathtaking boat ride. Highly recommend!!

This trip was so much fun and a great opportunity to see a lot of cool sites outside of Salt Lake City! I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting the area.

Overall great experience on the 2 hour boat and swim tour. The meetup area was easy to find in the Great Salt Lake State Park and there are adjacent restrooms if you need to change. Our captain Jake, was an excellent tour guide and he provided a plethora of information about the lake. Know that it will be the saltiest body of water you have ever been in, but the weather was great, the ride on the pontoon boat was easy, and you will really float with little effort. Note there is a $10 USD fee to enter the state park but parking is free. There are also outdoor showers.

This tour did everything it advertised it would and was exactly what we were looking for. The guide/driver was very knowledgeable and pleasant to spend the day with. If you're travelling and looking for something to do outside of the city, this is a great choice for you.

From the moment we were greeted by Matthew, Brittany, and Glenn, they gave us THE best city tour. From the adventurous stories, to the beautiful singing performances, and excellent driving skills, we experienced SL in a Time Machine!!! Each one of them treated the whole tour group with kindness and courtesy. We never felt rushed and enjoyed every moment of the tour. Highly recommend this one of a kind tour experience.

Dimi was an outstanding Guide who greatly exceeded my expectations. His knowledge of the history & current facts was second to none. He stove to understand what each customer wanted and to satisfy everyone. He provided assistance to me when I struggled up the mountain and enabled me to reach the top to see an incredible sunset. I recommend him to anyone that wants to see the Antelope Island.

Where do I even start? Dima was amazing! His knowledge of not just Antelope Island but all of Utah was incredible — he was eager to share facts and stories the entire time, and it never felt like too much. He went out of his way to help us spot different types of wildlife, and his enthusiasm made the whole experience so much fun.Just be ready to hike a bit to catch the sunset — trust me, it's worth every step. Chasing that sunset was a true escape from reality, and the views Dima brought us to were absolutely breathtaking.The convenience factor was also top-notch: he picked us up and dropped us off right where we were staying. From the intro and guidance at the start, to going around the group taking pictures for everyone, he thought of everything. Always eager to provide more — more facts, more views, more help.If you're in Salt Lake City, do yourself a favor and book this tour. 10/10!
